Covid-19 Policies

AN UPDATE ON OUR COVID-19 POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

Both of our hospital locations have been and are currently OPEN to provide veterinary services for the pets in our community. We continue to follow CDC and Jefferson County recommendations and therefore the wearing of masks is optional on our premises.

Patient Appointment Updates:

We are now allowing our clients the option; to accompany their pet into our hospital for their doctor’s visit or to remain on a “curbside service” basis with clients waiting inside their vehicle while animals receive the care they need.

To limit the number of people in our lobby we ask that you call or text our office when you arrive to check in for an appointment. At that time, we will let you know when it is best to proceed to the lobby.  If you are coming to pick up medications, you are welcome to come in when you arrive.

If you have chosen to remain on a “curbside service” basis, we will meet you at your car to escort your pet into the hospital. If you have any special needs or need assistance with bringing your pet inside our building, please do not hesitate to let our staff know!

The health and medical needs of our patients is vital to us:

Providing friendly, high quality and timely care and information is our mission and our passion and we do not take it lightly, especially in these difficult times. Many hospitals in our region have experienced significant staffing challenges in recent months, and we are no exception. There are several reasons for the shortage of veterinary support staff, although the stress imposed by and during the pandemic has been a contributing factor.

Despite the lack of technician coverage, we are doing our very best to fulfill the medical needs of all our beloved patients. We will make every attempt to have available appointments for all medical needs and to see all patients in a timely manner, but we ask that our clients bear with us in the event we are experiencing any unforeseen wait times or have exceeded our appointment availability.

If you have any questions that cannot wait till your next appointment, please do not hesitate to contact our office. We will respond to all inquiries as quickly as our staffing levels will allow. If you have a medical emergency that cannot wait, please contact one of the 24-hour emergency hospitals in our area:

As always, if you forget, and need a medication refill that cannot wait, please give our office a call and we will do our best to fill your pets’ medications as soon as possible.

Thank you for doing your part, and for your ongoing support of our team and our practice. Please know that you, your family, and your beloved pets are constantly in our thoughts, and don’t hesitate to reach out to us if we can assist you or your animal companions in any way.
